Comments: Do Canadian Vietnam Vets ever get together? I served as a Cobra Pilot with the 11th Armored Cav. in Quan Loi in 1969-70.
Admin reply: Chief Warrant Officer Fred Shuman, it sure is nice to hear from a Cobra "Gunship" Fighter Pilot! I must start by thanking you and your buddies for the "fire power" support you gave us ground troops. The rockets and the "Mini-Gun", one round per square inch was awesome!!!
To my knowledge, I've not heard of recent Canadian Vietnam Veterans gatherings, but if I hear of any, I will let you know. Again, thanks to you and your "Cobra Gunship", for your past support.

Comments: Hi All,
Went to the U.S.S. Salamonie Ao-26 website and found you guys. Meet Terry "Whitey" a couple of times. Although not at the same time, he and I served aboard the tanker in the 60's. A the Sal's reunion in Branson, Mo. we found out that we also had something in common, we served in the Brown water navy in Vietnam.
I see Buffie's bio also. He was with the 9th inf. My tour of the Brown Water Navy was aboard the USS Tioga County LST 1158 in the Mekong Delta. tHE task group consisted of the the Navy and the 9th inf. Just attended a Brown Water reunion in Indy and hundreds of 9th inf there.
Would like to know if Buffie was ever aboard the Tioga County.

Comments: I served in the USNAVY at the very beginning of the Vietnam war.Although I got out of service to go to my husbands home in S.C.,I was proud to have been in service to my country. I am very proud of the Americans and Canadians who served during that time. I now live in Canada with my Canadian husband and both countries will alway be in my heart.
Admin reply: Hi Karen, always a pleasure to hear from a veteran like you. You have good reasons to be proud of serving your great country. We are blessed to be part of two freedom-loving countries such as Canada and the USA!

Comments: Hello Paul, I met your brother Roland at the ANAF # 1 branch and he mentioned you are a Vietnam Veteran. We are very proud of our Vietnam Veterans and especially Canadian Veterans. It is time to recognize the contribution made by Vietnam Veterans who were simply responding to what their country and the free world asked of them at the time.We also remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice then and now. Whatever else we fail to do - We will not fail to think of you. Please feel free to visit my website american heroes remembered Drew Dodds
Admin reply: Thank you Drew for signing our guestbook and for the kind remarks on Vietnam Veterans. I'm sure all of the CVVA members will appreciate your comment. I've added a link to your website from our domain. Hope to meet you one day!
