Ron Parkes Military Career

  • Ron Parkes served from 1960 to 1962, in the Canadian Forces Reserves, Fort Gary Horse, 10th Armor Regiment.

  • He then enlisted in the US Army in 1962 and served in Fort Campbell, Kentucky with the 101st Airborne Division.

  • In the summer of 1965, he was sent to Vietnam and served in the 1st brigade, 101st Airborne Division on a 105mm howitzer gun crew, B-Battery, 2nd of the 320th Artillery.

  • Ron was then honorably discharged and resumed his civilian career.
