• Dave enlisted while still in high school and served in the USAF from 1970 to 1974 where he worked on the venerable B-52s Defensive Fire Control System.

• With the 8th Air Force, 43rd Avionics Maintenance Squadron he served two tours at Andersen AFB, Guam in support of the bombing missions to Vietnam and participated in the Linebacker II missions known by many as “The Christmas Bombings” of 1972.

• A member of the Minnesota Patriot Guard since 2006, he served on the Board of Directors and as Assistant Ride Captain in the SE Metro.

• He is also a Life Member of the VFW Post 9024 and has held office in that organization.
